Limoges.co.uk - Limoges Tourist Office

The Limoges Tourism Office is situated in the heart of Limoges, a stone's throw from the city centre, just off the Boulevard Louis Blanc. The office is on 12. Boulevard de fleurus, which is accessed through 'Rue du College', from the Louis Blanc stretch.

At the office, you can find out what's currently happening in the city. This can be useful for finding out what exhibits are being shown at the various museums dotted around the city, and which attractions it has to offer. The Tourism Office will also direct you to these attractions, and maps are on offer to help visitors find their way. If you or any members of your party have special needs, staff can assist in helping any disabled visitors to fully enjoy their stay in Limoges.

The opening times of the cathedral, museums and galleries can also be found here. Advance tickets can also be bought at the Tourism Office, sometimes at discounted prices, for the shows and exhibitions that require tickets to be purchased. For the places of interest that are located further away from the town centre, there are coach packages that can be purchased, again at reduced prices to the visitors of the office.

The office also hosts an extensive list of restaurants and bars for an enjoyable night out in the city. Staff at the office will suggest the best places to go for a tight budget, and also for those who are able to be a little more generous with their money. Visitors will also be directed to the many shopping arcades and precincts where the boutiques and cafes can be browsed at leisure.

If a place to rest one's head is needed, the tourism office will also provide information on a huge range of hotels to suit any budget. Again, special offers can be found at the right time of year. However, if the town begins to get a little claustrophobic, a number of car hire firms can be sourced via the tourism office. A full list of hire rates is available, along with details as to how long a car can be hired and information on the driver requirements in France. Cars can also be arranged to take visitors to the airport at the end of their stay.

If driving is not an option then local rail information is on offer, i.e. departures, arrivals, ticket prices etc, and, of course, how to get to the train station itself! The office will also give advice on where to change trains, if applicable, and which regions to visit in the area, such as the Oradour-Sur-Glane, with its historic war memorial.

To keep the children entertained, there are numerous activities that they can participate in, and places for them to visit, such as the Aquarium du Limousine, situated at Gambetta. Cars or public transport may be needed to visit the other childrens' attractions further away, in the Correze department of the Limousine region, but the Tourism Office will, again, be more than happy to assist in arranging this.
